Engagement and Wedding Photography
Wedding is as complex as it is important genre in photography. The grandeur of the moment, emotions of bride and groom, smiles of children and parents' tears of joy, all these and many other moments will find their place in the wedding photos. A day like that happens once in a lifetime (at least for some of us!), and wedding photos are the first "witnesses" of the birth of your new family. These photos are the keepers of those happy minutes that you live through on your wedding day. Flipping through the pages of the wedding album or looking at the high-definition slide-show you will be telling your children and grandchildren how it all happened. It will be your moment and you, together with the photographer who helped capture these moments, will be the screenwriters of your own story...
To get a perfect shot from the first take, to catch the moment and capture emotion at its peak - those are the typical requirements of any professional photojournalist. Maybe you want your most important wedding moments to be captured in this particular style (documentary or photo-reportage) and to have your story told "live" in a free-flowing and spontaneous way. It may not have the traditional features of staged poses and typical studio backdrops, but it will certainly have a very unique character to it. If that is how you see your dream wedding images, we can work with a slightly unusual angle, light and perspective to give the moment its true meaning as viewed through the eye of the photographer's lens and as lived through by you.
Wedding photography can be divided in two genres: carefully posed (traditional) and photojournalism (also known as photo reportage or documentary-style photos). The photo reportages are mingled with candid shots with some elements of staged images, whereas traditional planned images are carefully directed by the photographer to achieve unpredictable, yet classic images. Both of these styles have their merits and drawbacks. However, it may be worthwhile considering both genres in your wedding packages which would add unforgettable and unique charm to the memories of your most important day. Contact Slava Shamanoff photo studio for more details.
We can also offer a combination of styles to bring variety into your wedding day and resulting images. If classical style is more to your taste, we can include staged family and other traditional shots into the wedding ceremony, including the seconds before "I do's", throwing of the bride's bouquet, line up with the bridesmaids, best man and the groom's family and the romantic walk, of course. Whether you want a traditional photo album or its digital version as a slide show, we can work in any style that you choose or would like to try for a change. Sensual or pensive portraits of the bride caught off guard before she walks down the aisle; nervous or seemingly confident groom preparing to don his tuxedo; black & white, sepia or vintage style family photos to surprise and give something to reminiscent about to your family and friends.
It is the emotions of the wedding day that give you that elevated feeling that lasts long before the champaign cork is popped and long after the magic of the honeymoon gives way to the daily life. Our job is to bring back that unforgettable feeling of your wedding day. Both improvised and staged moments will find their way into your "story of the wedding day", and we hope to work with you and catch the same wave of happiness and joy that brought you and your families together.
